Summer Daze

…in a garden, by a river

summer garden blooms (author photo)

We sit in the wide
maw of our garage, perched like
little birds, waiting.
American Crow, he points.
Caw! caw! As they mob the owl.

The river churns by
pine needles warmed by the sun
earthy scent of dreams

Tomatoes, roses
cut, pared, pruned their wild refrain
scent upon the breeze

Sharing beauty and inspiration in seasons, in a garden, in nature. Summarizing what we have and what we may lose. For my grandchildren into their future.
